Editorial Policy
Accuracy and sourcing
Eligibility rules, income limits, benefit amounts, and tax parameters are sourced only from primary official documents — USDA, IRS, HHS, SSA, CMS, and state agency publications. If a claim cannot be traced to an official source, it does not ship. Dollar figures carry the year they apply to, and tool pages show the date each figure was last verified.
Updates
Benefit figures change on agency schedules. We update on those schedules — SNAP tables each October, poverty guidelines each January, tax parameters when the IRS publishes them — and log every change in the calculator changelog. Guides are revised when the rules they describe change, with updated dates shown.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix the page, note the correction, and update the changelog if a calculator was affected. Report errors through the feedback form — corrections sourced to an official document are prioritized above all other work.
What we are — and are not
Insight Press publishes general information to help readers understand programs before dealing with an agency. We are not a government agency, law firm, or tax preparer; nothing here is legal, tax, or benefits advice, and calculators produce estimates, not determinations. We never ask for Social Security numbers, account credentials, or payment to access information, and we never guarantee approval for any program.
Advertising
The site is supported by advertising. Ads are visually separated from content, advertisers have no input into what we publish, and no editorial placement is sold. Calculator results are never influenced by advertising. See our privacy policy and disclaimer.
